Commodity prices to go up globally
According to the automotive major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), the commodity prices are expected to go up globally in the coming times.
Moreover, the company said that to work on sustainable mobility solutions, the UV maker will look into things like weight reduction, fuel efficiency improvement and development of alternative fuel power trains. It is to be mentioned here that M&M said in its annual report 2009-10 that it will focus on developing new products and technologies to meet ever-growing customer needs even in the times to come.
Moreover, the report also pointed out the fact that after the industry as a whole has enjoyed a year of decline in raw material prices, the financial year 2010-11 is expected to see a firming of prices in the international market.
There is no denying to the fact that it will surely put pressure on margins of several automakers, but the company will continue to focus on cost re-engineering to ensure that it gets a minimal impact on its operations.
Considering the fact that the company has global plans for its operations and will soon be known as a true global auto major.
