It is harming the atmosphere and polluting the sea as well. It has increased the fear of environmental hazards in the surrounding. The coast guard at New Orleans believes that burning off some of the oil can help to reduce the distress.

The drilling rig was leased by the leading oil company British Petroleum. Last week the officials have also permitted to sink off some oil. The coast guards have sunk off the leaked oil to the Louisiana coast preceding week.

According to the officials as per the initial estimation, around 1000 barrels of oil are leaking into the sea from the damage well every day. This is an alarming condition for the authorities. As the rig was in the sea, the oil leaked can't be recovered and they are floating to the sea.
