Clinton to attend Egyptian conference for Gaza aid

Clinton to attend Egyptian conference for Gaza aid Washington  - US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday she plans to attend an international donors conference in Egypt next month to help rebuild the Gaza Strip following Israeli's military assault in the tiny enclave.

During a speech at the Asia Society in New York Clinton said that she will participate in the March 2 conference, one day after meeting Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit in Washington.

Clinton and Gheit discussed the donors conference as well as ways to keep in place a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas militants enacted last month after three weeks of devastating fighting. (dpa)
