California and San Francisco record highest gas prices

California and San Francisco record highest gas prices Due to the higher crude oil prices, California became the first state to witness gas prices top $3 a gallon since October and San Francisco has recorded the highest prices in the state, at $3.09 per gallon.

According to AAA's fuel gauge report, a medium grade fuel will cost you $3.20 per gallon at the same time as premium costs more than $3.25.

Average price for a gallon of gas in the country soared 0.6 cent to $2.66, according to AAA. It should be noted here that gas prices have been climbing bit by bit higher since April 29 and are up 63% since the beginning of the year.

In the Sacramento region, drivers have to foot the bill at the rate of $2.96 per gallon for regular grade, $3.15 for middle grade, and $3.20 for premium.

As far as gas prices are concerned, Yuba City is cheapest with $2.89 per gallon.

Troy Green, AAA spokesman, said gas prices could go beyond $3 per gallon in some other states also.

Soaring gas prices are agonizing some analysts as it could avert an economic recovery.
