In the coming three years, 24,600 employees working in Hewlett-Packard (HP), will lose their jobs, for the company has joined operations with Electronic Data Systems, which is basically a technology services company acquired by HP recently. The news came last night and it will account in cut of nearly 8% of the employees.

HP confirmed after the markets were closed yesterday that the employees working within the ranks of EDS will suffer most of the job cuts whereas half of them would get jobs in the US.

Earlier HP had not clarified as to how many employees of both the companies will lose their jobs. HP had 178,000 staff and EDS had 142,000 before the agreement was signed between the two companies.

Satyam Computer has received a SAP implementation order form Oman-based Khimji Ramdas LLC (KR) standardizes. Satyam is the fourth largest software exporter of India.

Country's fourth largest software exporter Satyam Computer Services has informed that it has secured a SAP implementation contract from Oman-based Khimji Ramdas LLC, one of the largest business conglomerates in Oman.

Under the terms of the agreement, Satyam will execute several SAP business solutions in areas such as Finance and Controlling, Treasury Management, Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, Project Systems, Customer Service, HR Payroll, HR Administration Merchandising and Assortment planning, GM SAP Point of Sale and DSD module for VAN sales.

The ordinary passport category would avail E-passport by September 2009. This is told by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee at Coimbatore. He was here to inaugurate a new Regional Passport Office.

E-passport is very easy to use and read. It is safe to use against forgeries. The official and diplomatic category of country is already getting the bio metric passport. The very first e-diplomatic passports were given to the President, Vice President and Prime Minister in June. It would be available for all ministers, state ministers and officials within three weeks.
