On Thursday, British Business Secretary Peter Mandelson confirmed that UK and India have managed to reach an outline agreement on cooperation in the nuclear fuel sector. The deal will most probably be signed real soon.

"Since the text has been agreed, there is no reason why the agreement cannot be signed next week."We've got an agreed text on civil nuclear cooperation. This is a very, very significant advance", Secretary Mandelson said.

The agreement was reached after an extensive meeting between Mr. Mandelson and Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.

The authority figures were leading their respective delegations at the UK-India Joint Economic Trade Committee meeting.
