Boards accept Schools reject-Autism
Autism a cause promoted by the various boards of education is being refuted by the school authorities.
The school authorities leave the deprived students in despair who fight for their own needs and for their basic rights, and the society on the other hand, fails to accept that its the same people who we constantly are fighting with.
Poonam Kalra, the activity coordinator of Darpan School, an institute for autistic children laments that the unfair situation through which an autistic student has to carve its way. Even after having the rules, nobody bothers to implement them, conditions are alike to what they were 10 years back
In a similar case, Amarjeet, the centre head of Optimising Development in Education (ODE), a school for kids suffering from learning disability expresses her concern and states that Autism occurs in 20 in 10,000 people and 80% of them are boys throughout the world. Any person can have an autistic child and thus shall provide equal rights to everyone.
However Amarjeet added, “Autistic children need behaviour modification to some extent, and though they are very loving, they avoid eye contact. A little bit of care from teachers can make the kids perform very well.”
