Black Hawk helicopters collide while landing, killing Iraqi soldier
Baghdad - An Iraqi soldier was killed late Saturday when two Black Hawk helicopters collided while landing in northern Baghdad, a US military spokesman told CNN.
Two US troops and two Iraqi soldiers were injured in the crash, said military spokesman Lieutenant Patrick Evans.
He said enemy fire was not suspected in the collision of the two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
But officials from the Interior Ministry claimed that one helicopter crashed in north-eastern Baghdad following clashes between US-backed Iraqi forces and militants, the report said.
The crash took place at Combat Outpost Ford in Adhamiya, a northern Baghdad neighborhood on the eastern bank of the Tigris river, according to Evans. (dpa)
