Billy Bob Thornton calls radio show hosts ''humpback geeks''
New York, Apr 24: Billy Bob Thornton has defended his feisty interview with a Canadian radio show host last month, while calling all presenters “humpback geeks.”
In an interview on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, Thornton said that his behaviour was not out of the ordinary, at least for him.
Last month, Thornton refused to answer certain questions during a sit-down with CBC Radio, and gave curt, bizarre answers to others.
He also became prickly when asked about his musical influences and eventually refused to sing along with his band on the show.
"The fact that that was news was astounding to me," The New York Daily News quoted him as saying on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’.
He added: "But it gave humpback geeks all over the world something to do for a couple days ... I do that all the time!"
Thorton said that the interviewer Jian Ghomeshi "said something she wasn''t supposed to say, and I said I received signals from Venus through a metal plate in my head ... I told a DJ to kiss my a--, that''s all that happened."
Shortly after the interview, Thornton''s band, ‘The Boxmasters’, were jeered off the stage while opening for Willie Nelson.
Later, the band cancelled the remainder of their Canadian tour dates, citing an outbreak of the flu among the band and the crew. (ANI)
