BCCI reschedules Sri Lanka tri-series
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rescheduled the tri-series between India, New Zealand and Sri Lanka to ensure availability of Indian cricket stars for the domestic one-day tournament. The domestic tournament will end on 8th September in Bangalore.
Indian team was supposed to play against New Zealand on 10th September and Sri Lankan team on 12th September but now they will have to play back-to-back matches on 11th September against Kiwi team and on 12th September against the host Sri Lankan team.
Sri Lanka Cricket secretary Nishantha Ranatunga informed media that BCCI had requested for changing the schedule of matches in the preliminary stage of the tri-series and they have accepted their request.
The tri-series will kick off at the Premadasa stadium with a match between Kiwis and Sri Lanka on 8th September while India team will reach Colombo on 9th September.
The final match will be played on 14th September.
This tri-series will help Dhoni's team to prepare for the Champions Trophy, which will be held in South Africa from September 22-October 5.
