Barack Obama is going to change the world: Alesha Dixon
London, Jan 25 : British singer Alesha Dixon is convinced that US President Barack Obama will change the world.
The 30-year-old singer insists that Obama's election to the country's top post gives a message of hope to everyone.
"Barack Obama is going to change the world," the Mirror quoted her as saying.
"I sat on my bed, cried and clapped my hands when he won the election.
"I was appearing on GMTV that morning so I was up early and I watched it live. I had to pinch myself when he won. It was incredible and it gives a message of hope to everyone.
"And he's handsome - his wife and children are beautiful, too!" she added.
Dixon's happier because Obama's also mixed race, like her, and has had to deal with racism in the past.
"Being mixed race means he understands both cultures," she said.
"We like to think we live in an equal society but a lot of the younger generation who are black and mixed race may still think that life will be a bit more challenging for them.
"Now, a lot of people will think there's nothing they can't achieve. What can be better than that?" she added. (ANI)
