Australia check-in system glitch resolvedAn IT glitch that had affected the check-in systems of several airlines in Australia has been resolved and the airlines are now looking to clear backlog of delayed passengers.

Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Tiger Airways have started electronically checking in the backlog of passengers after they were forced to manually check-in passengers due to the snag in their systems that affected operations for two hours in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.

Air passengers were frustrated and inconvenienced due to long delays across the country. Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Tiger Airways announced this morning that the problem has been resolved and the check-in system is operational but said that the delays would continue as they try to cleat the backlog of passengers in the country.

Melissa Thomson of Virgin Australia, a Jetstar spokesman and Tiger Airways spokeswoman Vanessa Regan all said that the domino effect wuld continue to cause some delays but the system is not operational and the staff is working to clear all delayed passengers as soon as they can.

Due to improvised boarding passes, there were no assigned seat numbers and the passengers were told to sit where they can. Flights saw delays of up-to two hours in Sydney and up-to four hours in Melbourne.
