The subsidiary of German Volkswagen that produces luxury cars under the Audi brand - Audi India on Thursday unveiled its luxury business sedan Audi A6 in the Indian market.

Speaking at the unveiling of the new variant of the Audi A6, Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers, said, "The Audi A6 is the most successful business sedan worldwide and one of our main contributors to our achievement in the Indian market. We believe the new Audi A6 will be one of the key players in the Indian luxury car market."

In the company statement, Audi India stated that the Audi A6 will be available at Audi dealerships pan-India from May 4 onwards. The luxury business car, Audi A6 will be available in four engine variants and six colours for the price starting from Rs. 38.57 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Speaking of the features of the Audi A6, Tiers said, "The new Audi A6 with its thrilling design, powerful engines and its combination of dynamic performance and lower fuel consumption will be one of the key players in the Indian luxury car market." Commenting on the significance of Indian market, Tiers said, "India has been a significant growth driver for Audi and will be the car market of the future."

According to the market experts, Audi India has priced the new variants of Audi A6 some Rs. 2 lakh below the price of existing A6 model. The company is probably looking to attract more buys with that.
