Audi presented its all new Audi quattro concept at Paris motor show
The Audi presented the innovative Quattro concept for cars in the Paris motor show. The original sports Quattro built in 1984, was an instant classic despite the fact that only 224 cars were ever built.
The Audi Quattro concept adopts the style and mechanical layout of the 1984 version whose chassis has been redefined from steel to light weight aluminum structure. The rework is supposed to get solution for the rear three- quarter panel problem which had made the parking a tough task to deal with.
As the 84 sports Quattro, the concept too is provided with turbocharged, intemperately intercooled five cylinder engine. The car is supposed to weigh 1.3-tonne, and the engine with 402 bhp producing capacity is exacted to drive this four wheel drive from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds to a top speed of 186 mph with the consumption of fuel claimed to be 33.2 mpg. Martin Winterkorn, chief executive of VW group is optimistic of the retro project and along with the revelation of Audi e-tron Spyder concept is confident of getting returns with a decent price and volume.
