Ashok Singhal slams UPA Govt’s soft approach on Chinese incursions
Chennai, Sep 20 : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal on Sunday criticised the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government for not taking any action against the recent reports of Chinese incursions.
Speaking after inaugurating the VHP’s official website here Ashok Singhal said: "We are not a coward people, we are a coward state… coward government. Anybody comes here and takes a piece of our land and we don''t protect our boundaries. This is what is happening in our country.”
“We find Chinese coming inside our territory… the Pakistanis coming inside our territory. Because we are a coward state. We can''t take any action. They are afraid of taking action…We are not a coward nation but we have a coward government,” Singhal the VHP’s International President added.
According to reports, the Chinese troops breached the international border in the region and painted ''China'' on some boulders and rocks.
The TV reports stated the Chinese troops had entered nearly 1.5 kilometres into the Indian territory near Mount Gya, which is recognised as an international border between both India and China.
However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry denied reports of any incursion.
It was also reported that two Chinese helicopters entered Indian air space in the Ladakh region along the border in recent months.
But the Union Government has clarified that, country''s boundaries were intact and there was no cause of concern. (ANI)
