Apple plans to Introduce New iOS app called ‘Home’

Technology major Apple has revealed its plan to manage its forthcoming HomeKit-compatible accessories. The company announced that it will be managed by a new iOS app ‘Home’. Apple’s announcement has come before its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

According to the company, currently it has been conducting tests to check its iOS 9, which includes the Apple’s new app. The app will allow a user to set up smart home products like wireless door locks with iPhones and Wi-Fi garage door openers, as per reports.

HomeKit of the Cupertino headquartered Apple was introduced in last year’s WWDC. As per reports by 9to5mac, the company has been working quietly on the HomeKit framework and Home app from a long time. The company could represent its work alongside its iOS 9 at WWDC, which will take place next month in San Francisco.

There are rumors that the Home app of the company is capable of wirelessly discover the devices that will be compatible with HomeKit. The app will automatically set up those devices, as per the rumors. The Home app will also use virtual rooms, where it creates a visual way to manage all the connected devices. That feature of the app will allow identifying similar devices throughout the house. In addition, the users could use Apple TV to control all the HomeKit devices. There, a user will be offered a number of screens to find new HomeKit devices and apps.

At present, it is not clear whether the company’s new app will be announced at its WWDC in June. According to the reports, the new Home app could be used for internal usage and the company could push for users to manage their HomeKit devices through Siri.
