Analyst: Apple’s top-management shakeup will streamline decision-making processWith Apple currently in the process of executing a top-management shakeup on a considerable scale, analysts are of the opinion that the reshuffling decision, rather than being an indication of troubles at the company, is a notably savvy move.

That the top-rung management shakeup was already underway was evident from Apple's Monday announcement in which the company revealed that its longtime mobile software chief Scott Forstall and the retail stores division head John Browett will be leaving.

While Forstall's departure is probably a result of the fact that he refused to sign a public apology for Apple's Maps misstep as well as his not-too-cordial relations with other managers; Browett's ouster apparently had something to do with his decision to cut back employee hours and store staffing in August - a move which Apple later overturned and called it "a mistake."

With both the top executives, Forstall and Browett, departing from Apple, the responsibilities undertaken by Forstall have been allocated to four other executives, while the search is on for a replacement for Browett.

Noting that the changes introduced by Apple will result in "a tighter team that has more control over the destiny of products that are interrelated," analyst Tim Bajarin - president of Creative Strategies of Campbell - said that Apple is clearly "streamlining the decision-making process when it comes to technology and in doing so, you'd never have one of those map-making fiascos again."
