Amitabh Bachchan to bet on Marathi films, through AB Corp.
Actor Amitabh Bachchan's movie production house AB Corp has just released a Marathi movie named Vihir. The premiere of the movie was held in Mumbai on this Thursday. The legendary Indian film star Amitabh Bachchan is very positive about the scope of regional cinema and says he will keep investing in regional cinema through his production house AB Corp.
The Marathi movie has got good response across countries during various film festivals. The movie has been screened at film festivals in Seoul, Berlin, London, Rotterdam etc. The actor further affirmed that he will be looking at some more Marathi movies. Amitabh Bachchan feels that over the past some time the Marathi cinema has really gone up in terms of its quality of production. He strongly feels that the content and performances of Marathi cinema has been constantly improving too.
Over the last few years have been very good for the regional films in the country, on the whole. A lot of companies have been putting their money in various regional films. However, the South Indian films still continue to dominate regional film space though other regional film industries like Gujarati, Marathi, etc. have been growing swiftly too.
