Amazon launches Android appstore in ChinaAmerican online retail giant, Amazon has announced the launch of its popular Appstore for Android in the massive Chinese telecom market in order to attract more users in the country.

With the launch of the Appstore, Amazon has become the first US firm to allow Chinese users to download both free and paid apps in the country. The company is expanding its presence in China and some reports suggested that it surpassed Google in paid apps for local customers. Google Play store is currently only offering free apps in China.

An Amazon. com spokesperson, Billy Huang said that the company is working with the developers to expand the number of apps available through the app store. Interestingly, China did not feature in the list of 200 countries, where the company is aiming to open its Android Appstore, when the list was revealed in the previous month.

The company will launch its app store in several markets including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea. The company said that the app store will be launched in the coming months but the company said that developers can begin submitting their apps for distribution in the new markets.

This is the first major expansion for the company's app store in the global market. The company app store is now only available in US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan. The expansion of the app store will allow it to compete better with larger rivals Google and Apple, both of which have their own huge app stores spanning across the world.
