AirAsia to starts recruitment drive next week AirAsia India, the newest entrant in the Indian aviation sector, will soon start its recruitment drive in Chennai.

The upcoming low-cost airline has announced a walk-in interview for aspiring flight attendants on April 13, in Chennai - which will have the airline's Indian headquarters.

The interview will take place at Chinmaya Heritage Centre in Chetpet, from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. Successful candidates will have to face another interview on the subsequent day before getting enrolled.

Detailing requirements, the airline said both male and female aspirants must be in the age group of 20-35 years; they must possess Higher Secondary School Certificate; and they should also be fluent in English as well as the local language.

Fresh graduates of any discipline and experienced flight attendants can attend the walk-in interview.

As per the company's requirements for height, female candidates must be between 160 cm and 170 cm; while male candidates must be between 170 cm and 180 cm.

The government has already cleared AirAsia's proposal to start a budget airline in India. The upcoming airline is a joint venture (JV) among Malaysia's AirAsia, Tata Sons and Arun Bhatia of Telstra Tradeplace.

While AirAsia will own 49 per cent stake in the joint venture, Tata Sons and Arun Bhatia will hold 30 per cent and 21 per cent stakes, respectively.
