Agassi confesses about never wanting to play tennis, says it was ''a job for him''

Andre-AgassiSydney, Jan 30 : Tennis legend Andre Agassi had confessed in an interview that he had never liked playing tennis and it was always like a job to him.

Philosophising about his time in tennis, Agassi said that although he was never meant to play tennis, his time as a tennis player taught him a lot of lessons about his own life, News. com. au reports.

Adding that he was never very athletic, Agassi said that he would not be able to compete with the top four in today’s game because it is different from the way he played.

He said that movement is the one thing today’s players have in common, and added that lack of athleticism is not the end of the career for a player.

A man renowned for his crippling injuries, Agassi said that the key to tennis, as in life, is to know personal weaknesses, so as to take advantage of personal strengths.

Agassi said that the strength of his game was to hit an effective shot and to slowly squeeze an opponent in submission. (ANI)
