Afghan leader condemns "inhumane" bombing in Pakistan
Kabul - Afghan President Hamid Karzai "strongly condemned" the bombing of a hotel in neighbouring Pakistan and called for serious fight against terrorism.
Karzai "strongly condemned the massive explosion which hit the Marriot Hotel in Federal Capital of Pakistan killing at least 60 people and injuring dozens more," the presidential palace said in a statement.
Calling the attacks "inhumane," the president said "terrorists had no faith in Islam and their cause was to spread bloodshed and kill innocent civilians." The attack took place during month of Ramadan, the fasting month for Muslims.
"The president once more emphasized on honest and serious fight against terrorism and added that as long as the evil of terrorism was active, blasts would continue," the statement added. (dpa)
