Abdul Qadir under scanner for dereliction of duty, selecting own son in local team
Karachi, Jan. 24 : .. And now it is Abdul Qadir in the eye of a storm. The Chief selector of the PCB has been charged with dereliction of duty and an undeserving selection of his son in a regional team for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
According to The News, senior PCB officials have taken serious notes about Qadir's late arrival at domestic matches and his failure to attend a national selection committee meeting in Karachi during the on-going one-day international series against Sri Lanka.
"Qadir regularly showed up late for the Pentagular Cup matches in Karachi which were supposed to be the criteria for selecting the squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka," a PCB source said.
The source added that Qadir did not even attended a selection committee meeting with the team management during the Sri Lanka series on a plea that he was unwell.
Moreover, the selection of his (Qadir's) son Imran Qadir, in the Pakistan Customs team for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, at the cost of a foreign player has raised questions over his commitment towards his job.
It may be noted that Imran played in four games scoring just one run and getting three ducks. (ANI)
