56 Indian Corporates make it to the Forbes 2000 listWhile the backing of the strong fundamentals of the Indian economy gave enough support that the country can give a suitable answer to the recession that was disturbing mainly all the developed nations across the globe, the recently released Forbes 2000 list shows that the Indian companies have what it takes to stay at the top.

According to the one of the leading US-based business magazine, Forbes, as many as 56 Indian companies, including biggies like Mukesh Ambani controlled Reliance Industries and the O. P. Bhatt led State Bank of India, have been named among the world's 2,000 most powerful listed companies.

While the list has been topped by the US based banking giant JPMorgan Chase followed by General Electric, Bank of America and Exxon Mobil, the Indian companies have shown a tremendous growth over the past year to make its presence felt on the global charts.

Apart from Reliance Industries which has been leading the pack as far as the Indian companies were concerned, the other companies that followed its footprints were State Bank of India (130), ONGC (155), ICICI Bank (282), Indian Oil (313), NTPC (341), Tata Steel (345), Bharti Airtel (471), Steel Authority of India (502), Larsen & Toubro (548) and HDFC Bank (632) among others.
