Zynga showing Facebook ads on its website
Gaming major, Zynga has started showing ads from Facebook on its standalone site, Zynga. com under a possibility a first of its kind of agreement with the social network.
The move indicates the beginning of a new force in eth online advertising industry, dominated by Facebook's rival Google. When the users connect to Facebook on Zynga. com, they see personalized ads and sponsored stories from the social network. These ads now fill the space that used to display Google ads.
Gamers use Facebook accounts to log into Zynga. com and thus the ads get targeted to the user on the site. Facebook has said that the advertisers will not get any new criteria to target people and thus the users are mostl likely to be targeted with the same kind of ads as on Facebook.
The new way of placing advertisements will allow the world's largest social networking site to target ts users beyond Facebook. com. both Zynga and Facebook have not disclosed the financial details of the deal.
Meanwhile, Facebook has said that when a user clicks on an ad on the network their names and photos can be used to plug the product. The users will have the opportunity to decline the opportunity to be unpaid endorsers.
