Zidane backs ‘great professional’ Beckham to surprise everyone during PSG stint

Zinedine-ZidaneLondon, Feb 14 : Legendary French star Zinedine Zidane has backed former Real Madrid teammate David Beckham to surprise everyone at Paris Saint-Germain with his professionalism.

Beckham signed a five-month contract at the wealth French club in January, the Sun reports.

The former Manchester United star's PSG move has been questioned by some sections of the French media, with age and shirt selling ability prompting calls he is there solely for marketing reasons.

However, World Cup-winner Zidane insists Beckham should not have his ability questioned nor his motivations for being in the French capital.

Zidane said Beckham is going to surprise young, adding he is a truly great professional, and he is going to show some professionalism and that cannot hurt some of the guys today.

Zidane said Beckham didn't come to play 90 minutes every match, as he would bring his touch, and he is capable of doing in 20 minutes, half an hour.

Zidane added the former LA Galaxy star has a way of striking free kicks, putting his foot against the ball, which is different from others, adding he is a guy who loves to play, at 37-years-old he's still here, but he doesn't do it for anything other than passion. (ANI)
