Lahore, Mar. 26 : Middle order batsman Mohammad Yousuf has decided to terminate his contract with the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) and hopes to play in the forthcoming one-day series between Pakistan and Australia in the UAE.

According to sources, Yousuf has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about his decision to resume his international career with Pakistan.

The PCB had barred Yousuf from taking part in any international event after he joined the ICL last year.

He was dropped from the national team when he joined the rebel league in the middle of a three-match one-day international series against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi.

The PCB claimed then that Yousuf had defied the board’s central contract and therefore was not eligible for selection.

Yousuf, at that moment had charged captain Shoaib Malik of not giving him enough room in the team as a senior player.

“I was fed up with the attitude of Malik, and the cricket board,” he said then.

With Yousuf deciding to play for Pakistan, it’s upto the selectors to include him in the squad for the series against Australia that begins from April 22. (ANI)
