This year’s spring seems to bring more allergies
Spring season on one hand brings new life in our natural environment as most of the flowers blossom during this season, but on the other hand, it also brings allergies. People suffering from allergies often sneeze during this season. This season is not only full of lush green fields with colorful flowers, but also full of pollens that often float in wind causing people to sneeze.
The scenario is same in almost all over the world. Dr. Timothy Kaiser with Ear Nose and Throat of Oklahoma said allergy season will probably be a little worse this year, but it's always bad in Southwest Oklahoma. According to Kaiser, there are ways to prevent one from getting allergy.
"The wind blows. We get a lot of stuff that comes in from all over the place. I didn't really notice any reduction during the drought, maybe it was all the dust blowing around. When it rains, normally we get more pollen and obviously mold and stuff. So it gets worse," said Kaiser.
One, in order to seek protection, should put filter in the room at night and keep windows closed. Air should be kept clean around you. Take showers to wash off pollen and wash your face to get rid of pollen. There was lot of cold last year and there weren’t much symptoms of allergy until April. However, this year, it’s not yet April and there are lot of cases of allergy.
The pollen is detected to be more in amount. When one returns home from work or outside, he should remove clothing and clean himself and when outside, glasses and a hat or cap can be put on to keep pollen at bay.
