World Down Syndrome Day: Olivia Wilde wins hearts with touching video ‘How do you see me?’
A new ad featuring American actress Olivia Wilde has perfectly used the question ‘How Do You See Me’. The video has been released to honor the World Down Syndrome Day, on March 21.
A 19-year-old girl, AnnaRose Rubright, who is a college student with Down syndrome, has narrated the video titled with ‘How Do You See Me? Wilde is a young woman who can be seen busy with her everyday life. Wilde is shown as a woman with Down syndrome. She is working, giving time to family, watching television and doing other tasks.
“I see myself as an ordinary person with an important, meaningful, beautiful life. This is how I see myself. How do you see me”, said the19-year-old in the video.
The small clip has been made with an aim to honor World Down Syndrome Day and challenge people around the globe to see past the problems of a person with Down syndrome. The video tells people to see the sufferer’s humanity, ability and full potential.
Rubright, who has Down syndrome, said she experienced discrimination due to the condition. She also said that it was exciting to be part of the PSA alongside a personality like Wilde. She urged people to respect individuals with Down syndrome. People should see how smart people with the condition are, she added.
Saatchi & Saatchi has created the video for CoorDown, an organization for individuals with Down syndrome. Sergio Silvestre, President of the organization based in Italy, said the latest campaign is important because people see individuals having Down syndrome differently. The main objective of the video was to tell others how people with Down syndrome see themselves.
Rubright hopes the video will make a difference in the society.
