On the one hand the IT & BPO industry is already struggling after the three days of communal riots in several parts of Hyderabad, companies like Wipro, HSBC, Mahindra Satyam has already sent alert e-mails to its employees.

While some are giving assistance to ensure the safety of their employees, some have issued notices to work from home, if need be.

In fact, as there are subsequent curfews in parts of the old city, it has once again hammered the sentiment of the IT majors who have just started to recover from the Telangana agitation.

Wipro has issued a toll-free number for the assistance to the employees and Google has ensured that its employees reach home safely as it has sorted out the transportation issues. Mahindra Satyam has made sure that its employees reach back home well in daylight hours and will be released early who live in the troubled areas.

Notably, the IT industry does a business of 100 crore a day in the state. Moreover, estimated to grow at a low rate of 5-7%, incidents like these are expected to take the industry even further down in the drain.
