Windows replaces CCP with Smart Linking

Windows replaces CCP with Smart LinkingMicrosoft's phones won't have the capacity to cut, copy and paste (CCP), reports Technology magazine Engadget.

This piece of news comes straight from Microsoft, which seeks to remind the users as well as developers that they shouldn't expect to have an access to clipboard to copy and paste. This is because Microsoft's own Office applications will not have 'copy and paste' option.

This process will be removed since the company feels that it is used when a user has to make a call or type in an e-mail address.

To address this 'deliberately induced-concern,' Microsoft has instead granted an option of - Smart Linking. This feature works by double clicking on a phone number which either permits the user to make a call or add it to the phone book. In case of an email address, one gets direct mapping to the mail.

Windows Phone Executive, Todd Brix says that these features shall score well. He gave reference of a survey which stated that 80 per cent of users want to remove the feature if the above tactic is available.
