Will act in Punjabi film if I get a good script: Ayushmann

Ayushmann KhurranaHyderabad: Bollywood actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana says he is ready to do a Punjabi film provided the script is novel and out-of-the-box.

"I am open to Punjabi films. That's because it's my language. And if there is a novel idea, out of the box concept, I will be open to it. It's easier to act in the language you are thinking," he told reporters.

Ayushmann, who started off as a radio jockey and later became television presenter before making his Bollywood debut in 'Vicky Donor' in 2012, said he is quite fearless as his expectations from life are minimal.

"I just want to evolve with every character, every film.? That's the dream (in Bollywood). I don't keep any crazy aspirations. I am a very normal person with very simple lifestyle. My simplicity, I think, is my USP," the 30-year-old said.

"Dream is to become a better actor, better singer. I live in the present."

Ayushmann, who is married and has two children, does not like "frills" of Bollywood as he needs his own space and takes time to open up, as also not getting enough time for the family.

Always a cinema buff and "filmy", Ayushmann said Dilip Kumar is his inspiration and role model, while Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan are among the idols as far as acting is concerned. The actor, who has done masters in mass communication from Punjab University, admitted that the initial idea was to become a journalist.

"We had various fields during our course but main thrust was print. I had interest in theatre and radio."

Ayushmann, who has acted in films 'Nautanki Saala' and 'Bewakafiyaan', said he is getting out of his comfort zone for the first time with 'Hawaizaada'.

"'Hawaizaada' is an untold story of an unsung hero... The man who made the world's first aircraft... Apparently an Indian and he made the invention eight years before the Wright Brothers. This is a very novel, untold story. It's a very unique idea. I am sure everyone will like it," he said.--- PTI
