Warne Wants Symonds To Come Back As A “Better Person”
Melbourne: Former renowned Aussie leg spinner, Shane Warne, had criticized ex-teammate Andrew Symonds for showing disrespect to the national side and urged him to come back as a “better person” in the future. The former leggie said that in the absence of senior players like Ponting and Hayden from the squad, Symonds should have come forward to support his one-time best buddy Micheal Clarke.
Speaking with Herald Sun, Warne said, “I would have thought that if Andrew Symonds and Michael Clarke were good friends, then Symo would have more respect for Clarke than that.”
Due to the “gone fishing” episode, Symonds was dropped from the ODI series against Bangladesh. The volatile all-rounder has also not been picked by the selectors for the upcoming test series against India next month.
However, Warne urged the troubled all rounder not to throw away his game. "I would be disappointed if he took the easy option and just threw it away," Warne said.
