US first daughters visit Niagara Falls
Authorities have said that U. S. President Obama's two daughters and their grandmother visited the Canadian side of Niagara Falls under a tight security lid.
The Buffalo (N. Y.) News reported on Tuesday that the White House confirmed Sasha, 9, Malia, almost 12, and their maternal grandmother Marian Robinson visited the historic nature site, including the Journey Behind the Falls on their first visit to the Canadian side, even though neither the Niagara Parks Police nor the U. S. Secret Service would confirm their presence.
Inspector Paul Forcier of the Niagara Parks Police said, "We haven't been commenting on any delegations coming through. Any visits that we had went very smoothly, but I'm not confirming anything."
The News further said that security has been tight at the falls and officials have been tight-lipped.
Forcier said on Monday, "Maybe things have wrapped up at the Group of 20 summit, but there may be other delegations coming to Niagara Falls. We had one visit this morning. Since those visits may not be done, we're not making it our business to confirm or deny the identities of any of the delegations." (With Inputs from Agencies)
