Ukrainian President Yushchenko to visit Bush Monday

Washington - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko is expected to visit his counterpart George W Bush on Monday, the White House said Thursday.

The two men are to discuss "how to reinforce democracy, security and national sovereignty in Ukraine and throughout the region," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

Steps to advance Ukraine's integration into the Euro-Atlantic community would also be discussed, she said.

Yuschchenko joins a parade of foreign dignitaries visiting Bush this week and next, with many leaders in the US for the General Assembly session at the United Nations in New York. (dpa)
