UK Sinha assumes office as 8th Sebi Chairman
Market regulator, SEBI has appointed Upendra Kumar Sinha as its eighth chairman on Friday.
Upendra Kumar Sinha is popularly known as UK among his friends and before taking the charge of SEBI, he was UTI Mutual Fund’s CMD.
Chandrashekar Baskar Bhave, was the predecessor of UK who have raised the bar of the institution during his three year tenure. He has formed his own notion which is highly appreciable. He had revealed the real powers of SEBI to everyone and especially to the powerful people. He also emphasizes that every stakeholder in the marketplace, especially the retail investors are rightly heard and not just the brokers and corporates.
Sinha has to use his expertise to keep the capital market reforms process on even keel.
It is anticipated that Sinha will give momentum to the capital market reforms developed by Bhave and will take this process to new heights.
