UK retainers including, PC World and Currys are offering new attractive deals for the HP Touchpad tablet computers.

PC World is offering the 32GB model only for £249 along with a case and a wireless charging dock. Amazon is offering the Touchpad 16GB model for a similar price, while the 16 is not on offer by PC World or Currys.

The tablet has been on sale and taken off several times since HP announced its decision to stop production for the tablet, which was expected to compete against Apple iPad and other Google Android powered devices.

The prices for the tablet had fallen to levels as low as £89 when HP had cut price of the Touchpad in a fire sale. The demand for the device increased significantly following the company's announcement to stop production for the tablet. Dixons retail, which owns PC World, Currys and Dixons. com had said that it sold its stock of the tablets of 500 units in just 15 minutes. Reportedly, HP has informed UK retailers about a drastic reduction in wholesale price of the product.

The company had launched the tablet less than two months ago to enter the tablet market dominated by Google Android and Apple.
