UK mum beats odds of 130,000-to-one by giving birth to 2nd Xmas baby

Hamima-Juma.London, Dec 28 : A woman from Coventry, defied odds of more than 130,000-to-one to give birth to her second daughter on Christmas day.

Hamima Juma, 24, had welcomed her eldest daughter Maheera into the world on December 25, 2009, but was stunned when her second child arrived exactly three years later, the Daily Mail reported.

The perfectly timed Christmas presents came later than expected for Hamima and her husband Maruf, after having originally shared the same due date of December 19.

Maheera, was born at 9.05 am and weighed 5lbs 12oz, while the couple's latest arrival weighed 5lbs 11oz and was born at 10.30 pm.

Hamima and Maruf, 33, were in the middle of celebrating their eldest daughter's third birthday at their family's home in Coventry when the contractions began.

Maruf, a chef, said that the couple had his sister - a student midwife - on standby because of what happened a couple of Christmases before.

He said that he had been praying for another Christmas baby and now he truly feels blessed. (ANI)
