Two Students in Udupi District Tested Positive for H1N1
As has been confirmed by the District Health and Family Welfare Officer Ramachandra Bairy on Saturday, two students studying in the Government Higher Primary School at Koderi in Kirimanjeshwara Gram Panchayat of Kundapur taluk in Udupi district have been tested positive for H1N1. The students are currently under treatment.
After these students showed strong A(H1N1) symptoms, they were tested with nasal swabs which tested positive on December 4, and were immediately given Tamiflu tablets.
Aged 12, the students are now reportedly recovering successfully, and nasal swabs of 4 other students of the school are now being tested. These were sent on Saturday and reports are being looked forward to. These 4 students have been given Tamiflu as well.
Dr. Bairy has shared that as many as 109 students of the school, as of December 02, showed symptoms of the flu and were being treated in a regular manner.
All the 6 students who are currently being treated for the flu have been isolated from home, and all the 109 who were showing symptoms have also been asked to stay home. Holidays have been declared until Tuesday.
