Twitter features itself for free in iPhone at the iTunes store, as the co-founder Biz Stone wrote in his blog post.

Prior to this Apple's iPhone users had to purchase an app Tweetie, for $2.99, which users assumed to be a connecting source to the micro-blogging site, Twitter instead it ended up nowhere, they often gave up, Stone wrote.

This saw a room for improvement and this led to introduce the latest platform Twitter for iPhone and iPod touch is available for free on the iTunes App Store, states the post.

Twitter purchased Tweetie from Atebits in early April and rebranded it as Twitter.

The co partner Evan Williams asserted that the app was aimed at improving the service and in order to avail this service users just need a Twitter account to use the app.

It comes with all the latest trends such as browsing trends, reading Top Tweets, finding popular users etc, thus, making bonus two-in-one facility at the same cost.
