Twitter to restrict access to nonpaying apps, sites
Micro blogging site, Twitter will soon block third party developers that do not pay for using the website from accessing the site.
The apps and websites that do not pay to use its data but run on the micro blogging platform will be removed from the site as Twitter will only offer a 'sign in' button to websites and apps that pay Twitter for using data.
Many believe that it might be a good business move to block all free apps and sites from eth micro blogging site but it might upset some users because third party apps played a role in increasing the popularity of the platform. The move would mean that unauthorized and unauthenticated comments will not be posted on the site.
The move comes after the site started allowing its users to access their 3000 tweets. There are already third party apps that allow users to look up old tweets, but some are expensive. Some of these apps only allow users to access tweet history of certain known people. The increasing popularity of Twitter as a medium for international news and communication has led to the demand for a history tool on the site.
