Twitter redesigns service to attract users
World's leading micro-blogging service, Twitter ahs released a new look for its service that connects millions of users around the world.
The new designing is aimed at simplifying the site and make it easier for users to connect with others. The company has also updated its TweetDeck desktop application to be linked to the new version. Twitter has added a new 'Stories' Section to the site as part of a redesign.
The company has also added several other features as part of the redesign in order to increase the appeal of the service to internet users. Jack Dorsey, Twitter's creator said that the site will help new users find information that might interest them on the basis of their location and other signals.
Satya Patel, a Twitter senior executive said, "It's not just a visual redesign but a conceptual redesign to make Twitter more accessible to the next billion users."
The new design will be released all over the world in the coming weeks. The new "Stories" will show users content that they might find interesting. It is the first step by the company to offer rich content that is being sent to the site for the people.
Twitter is aiming to become an online advertising major but faces many challengers including competition as well as concerns that many people are not comfortable about using the service. The company recently said more than 100 million people actively use Twitter with a majority of the users based outside the US.
