Twitter claims of 800 million searches queries a day

Twitter claims of 800 million searches queries a dayReports laid by Twitter’s co-founder Bizz Stone state that the micro-blogging site receives 800 million search queries from its users each day.

At the Aspen Ideas Festival, Stone claimed that Twitter users posted 24 billion search queries on the platform every month, which indicates that Twitter is witnessing a makeover and being converted in to an informational hub, rather than a typical social network.

Comscore data revealed that Microsoft's Bing search engine and Yahoo search had 4.1 billion and 9.1 billion search queries every month, respectively.

Stone further adds that there has been a rise in number of search queries by 33 per cent in the last two months.

This however is all in lieu of showcasing Twitter's strategy to offer sponsored tweet adverts in search results, a part of Twitter's efforts to monetize its services.
