Twin suicide attacks kill Indian worker, Afghan, wounds six others
Kabul- Two suicide bombers attacked an Indian road construction company in western Afghanistan, killing an Indian worker and his Afghan driver and wounding six others, provincial governor said Saturday.
The bombers who wore explosives vests jumped in front of Indian road workers in Mana village of Khashrod district Nimruz province on Saturday morning, Ghulom Dastagir Azaad, provincial governor told Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
"The blasts killed one Indian worker and his Afghan driver and wounded four other Indian workers and a police escort," Azaad said.
He said that a third man associated with bombers was wounded in the attack and was arrested in by police.
The Taliban recently have been relying heavily on the use of suicide and roadside attacks, both tactics widely believed to have been copied from Iraqi insurgents.
India is building a road of over 300 kilometres between the towns of Zeranj and Delaram in Nimruz province, which connects the western region with Iranian border.
In January this year, two Indian Security Personnel were killed and nine Indian and Afghan security officials were injured in a suicide attack. (dpa)
