TTSL introduces Tata DoCoMo in UP East and UP West

TTSL introduces Tata DoCoMo in UP East and UP WestTata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) has rolled out its GSM facility Tata DoCoMo in the UP East and UP West telecom circles including Uttarakhand as well. In order to draw customers, the company has introduced Tata DoCoMo with "Pay-for-what-you-use" model, with a
1 second pulse, and a pricing of 1 paisa per second.

The company has agreed to make an investment of around USD 500 million in the two telecom circles as part of its capex of 2 billion dollars over a period of 2 years.

Tata DoCoMo will spread over 505 towns and around 17,000 villages in the two states, and 50,000 retail stores will sell its services.

TTSL has already expand its GSM service in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Orissa, Karnataka Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, including Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kolkata, Jharkhand-Bihar as well as Punjab. In a declaration, TTSL said that its GSM service (Tata DoCoMo), which commenced its operations in June 2009, will soon cover Gujarat, Rajasthan and rest of West Bengal. Japan's NTT DoCoMo possesses 26% stake in TTSL and is the leading telecom operator in that country with over 50% market share.
