Tropical Depression May Reach Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands: NHC
A Tropical Depression has been recorded at about 340 miles southwest of San Juan, Peurto Rico, and about 175 miles north-north-west of Curacao, with winds at 35 miles per hour (mph), at 11 am EDT according to the the National Hurricane Centre (NHC).
It has been predicted that the depression will not hit the oil-rich Gulf of Mexico but has turned in the northern direction. A tropical Storm Alert has been released for Puerto Rico, The U.S Virgin Islands, and The British Virgin Islands and parts of the Dominican Republic.
Further it has been forecast by the NHC that the depression may take the form of a hurricane with winds over 74 mph by Thursday after crossing Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands on Wednesday.
