Trinamool-CPI (M) collide in West Bengal; one dead, six injuredHooghly (West Bengal), Nov 26 : A clash between the activists of CPI (M) and Trinamool Congress here claimed one life and left over six others injured including two police men, said a police official.

The Police further said that the dead was a Trinamool Congress supporter, while the four injured were CPI (M) supporters.

The collision began today morning in three villages under Khanakul, Arambagh and Purshura police stations. The police added that guns, bows and arrows and other improvised firearms were used during the fight.

Ananta Dalui, a 40-year-old agriculture labourer, was shot dead when he was working in a potato field at Chandraban village under Arambagh police station.

Sukomal Das, the officer-in-charge of Khanakul police station, and a constable received bullet injuries in Majhpur village and both have been admitted to the hospital, said the police.

Four villagers, known to be CPI (M) supporters, were also shot and injured at Majhpur.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Satyajit Bandyopadhyay said a large party of police visited the disturbed villages and have brought the situation under control. (ANI)
