TRAI aims to get better broadband
It is believed that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recently released a comprehensive consultation paper on broadband to address the issue of improving broadband penetration.
In fact, with the 3G auctions entering the last phase in the Indian market, being followed by the BWA auctions, it is believed that the government is now getting ready to improve things as far as the operations of broadband in the Indian market are concerned.
Moreover, it is also claimed that over the next six months, serious discussions will take place in the offices of the PM, cabinet secretary and DoT secretary to make things better in the broadband industry in the Indian market.
It may be noted here that, with 600 million mobile phone users in the Indian market , followed by a mere 70 million internet users, the two figures clearly show the seriousness of the problem in the domestic circuit.
If the experts are to be believed, infrastructure, access devices, content and affordability are some of the key areas that need to be worked upon, if the industry wants the things to be better for the Indian consumer.
