Topshop Finally Removes the Picture of Anorexic Looking Model

Topshop Finally Removes the Picture of Anorexic Looking ModelAfter many complaints from the Eating Disorder Charity, Topshop is reported to have finally removed the picture of the anorexic looking model, 18-year-old Codie Long from their website.

Also, the image which has now been replaced with another picture of hers was said to have a negative influence by encouraging anorexia in teenagers.

Karen East hall, who runs an anorexia support group in Norfolk, said: “Ms Long appeared to be a size zero, and that Topshop should know that publishing "a disturbing picture of a stick-thin model can cause problems with young girls, who may try to copy them".

However, Andrew Leahy, Topshop’s Head of publicity, expressed that they acknowledged in regret that the angle the image was taken may have accentuate Codie's ‘proportions’, which made her head look bigger and neck longer. Her eyes were not sunken as people generally said, as the sunglasses were worn because they retail them and they completed the look.

Moreover, Ms. Long said: "I am very happy with my body and how I look because it's a part of who I am and throughout my entire childhood I was called anorexic and people would ask if I was bulimic".
