Top Level Changes At Bharti Enterprises
A strategic restructuring of the apex corporate level by Bharti Enterprises was announced on Tuesday, where an office for the Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to be headed by Sunil Mittal would be created, while Rakesh Mittal and Rajan Mittal will be the Vice-Chairmen and Managing Director of Bharti Enterprises.
The aim behind building this new structure is to effectively build emerging business as well as enhance empowerment to functions and developed businesses.
According to an office release, the primary and the foremost focus of the re-structuring would be on seeking growth opportunities, guiding businesses, securing financial health of the group, and growing and developing talent.
Rakesh Mittal, who would also be the co-chairman of the group’s philanthropic arm, Bharti Foundation, will enhance focus on social projects.
On the other hand, Rajan Mittal has been promoted as Vice-Chairman who will now be focusing on retail, cash and carry realty business.
Akhil Gupta, who has been made as the Deputy Group CEO and Managing Director of Bharti Enterprises will take specific charge of the tower infrastructure business as the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Bharti Infratel. He will also lead financial services and the software business. At the same time, he will continue to be on the board of Bharti Airtel.
Manoj Kohli too has been elevated as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel.
Sunil Mittal, Bharti’s Chairman and Group CEO reported, “With the new structure, we will engage functionally with our emerging businesses at a deeper level, empower the developed businesses, strengthen the interface mechanisms of Bharti with the businesses and leverage the group functions effectively.”
